General
Questions:
Q: Where can I buy accessories?
A: At any of our local retail
locations or online at our
secure e-commerce accessory
mall page.
Q: Is a carrying case important?
A: Yes, a carrying case will help protect the
phone from the daily elements.
Q: I worry about my family
driving while on the phone.
What can I do to keep
my family driving safely?
A: Simmetry advocates
safe driving. We believe
that it is safer to use "hands free" devices such as ear buds, voice dialing or other such devices.
The best solution of all may be to simply pull over to the side
of the road to talk on
your wireless phone.
Q: Should I store numbers
to my phone or my sim
card?
A: On many phones it would be better to store your phone numbers on the sim card. By
doing this you can change
your sim card to another
phone and still have access
to your phone book. If your phone does not have enough memory to do this, you can use the phone's internal memory or a combination of both.
Q: Is there any way I
can identify callers other
than using caller ID?
A: Many of the phones that we carry offer a
feature that allows you
to set a special ring
tone for a particular
group. This helps identify
people calling you. You
may assign different ring
tones for different groups
of callers, such as work,
family, friends, or clients. We also carry phones that offer a "Picture ID" feature allowing you to see a photo of who's calling.
Q: Do the retractable
car chargers work as well
as the regular ones?
A: Yes they do. Plus no
messy cords lying around
your car!
Q: How can I track how
many roaming minutes are
left on my account?
A: Call the retail store
closest to you for a call
report. This report may
only reflect the calls
that have been reported
to us. There can be up
to a two week delay for
calls to show up on the
report.
Q: When will you be expanding
your coverage area?
A: We are continually adding new coverage areas and improving the existing quality of coverage within our service areas as well. Please
check our coverage maps for the latest updates.
Q: Do you offer night
and weekend minutes?
A: We offer unlimited
daytime, night time, and
weekend time in the local
calling area.
Q: Do you carry rugged
phones?
A: We
carry phones for varying lifestyles and usage.
We can also special order phones not typically carried in retail store inventory. Please check with your
local sales representative about the phone best suited
for your usage.
Q: Can I special order
a phone?
A: We can special order
many different phones.
Please stop in and talk
to our local sales team about the phone you are
interested in.
Tech Support
Information:
Q: What is "Power
Cycling"?
A: Turning the power on
your phone off and then
back on. This will help
with potential signal strength issues,
“unregistered SIM”
errors, or complete loss
of network registration.
Removing the battery and
then re-installing it
may also prove helpful
if a regular Power Cycle
does not correct the problem.
Q: Will I have signal
everywhere within the
coverage area?
A: With cellular service,
there are areas known
as dead spots.
If you lose signal, try
moving to another area
with more windows or a
location of higher elevation.
Q: My voicemail icon
will not turn off. What
can I do?
A: Try Power Cycling your
phone as described above.
If this does not work,
bring your phone into
any authorized Simmetry dealer for assistance.
Q: My phone displays
“SIM Blocked”
– What do I do?
A: Please contact you
local service center.
Q: Can my phone be damaged
from over-charging?
A: Not if it is only an occasional
occurrence. It is best
if you allow your phone
to drop to one bar of
strength or low battery
on a regular basis. Then
charge your battery the
recommend time specified
by your phone manufacturer.
It is best not to put
your phone on your car
charger each time you
get into your car. Over
time this can negatively
affect your battery.
Q: Will moisture affect
my phone?
A: Keep your phone away from
water or moisture at all
times. Your phone is an electronic piece
of equipment. Therefore moisture can severely damage
it. Note: Liquid or
moisture damage is not
covered by the manufactures
warranty.
Q: Does high or low temperature
affect my phone?
A: Yes. Do not leave phone
in high or low temperature
areas (i.e. in your car).
This could affect you
battery performance and
can also crack the liquid
crystal screen on the
phone. This type of damage
would not be covered under
you warranty.
Q: How can I download
ringtones/pictures?
A: Using Sim-media. With service plans utilizing data you will be able to login and download the latest ringtones and wallpapers. You can also surf and search the mobile web and even check your Adams email, all from the convenience of your Simmetry mobile phone.
Q: What should I consider when using a security
code on my phone?
A:
If you feel you need have to use a security code,
keep your code in a safe
place where it will
not be lost. We cannot
unlock your phone if you
would happen to forget
or lose your code.
